Default State Soveriegnty

Now this is interesting

Turns out a lot of states have been throwing up a hissy fit over their rights.

The gun stuff is intersting too. Quite a few States have been saying if the anti-gun bill H.R.45 mainly I believe, H.R. 197, H.R. 257, and H.R. 442 seem to have bits about gun control in them too though, goes through they'll ignore it. Idaho issued congress a cease and desist over it:

http://www.legislature.idaho.gov/leg...009/HJM003.pdf

It's not just the more Republican states though: Arizona, California, Alaska, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Georgia, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Washington. Lots of people getting in on the fun. Lots of liberals and anti-gun people been buying up guns too since the depression hit. Guess their love for human life becomes a lot less when there's a change he might be after their Plasma TV.

Firearms are flying off the shelves in all the stores. Bulk ammo is on a 6 month back order at the place I buy from in Atlanta.

America is arming up and it is not people like me because, I already have everything.

Self preservation is the ultimate unifier.

Wow, state sovereignty eh, this is something I should get into And the gun sales going up is rather interesting, but then again the Supreme Court did rule out the banning of hand guns in one state (I think it was New York, could be mistaken though), so I guess no one can complain or "worry" about gun sales if it is legal to a certain extent.

Ironic how Gov. Perry was completely silent during Bush's reign of pseudo-conservative bs.

And Governor Perry can't do shit to begin with. Just being the Governor of Texas, the bastion of the Republican movement, gives him more presence.

The office of Texas governor doesn't have that much power. Most of the power in Texas lies between the Speaker of the House and the Lt. Governor due to their presence in the Legislature of Texas. Perry's just trying to score cheap points to get another term and bash around his likely opponent, Kay Bailey Hutchinson (senator).

Governor Perry, what about our wastes on Texas education? The massive toll ways? Little care for the natural lands of Texas? Nonexistence of working rights, aside from that 'Right to Work' bs. Preference for the Power Triangle of the big Texas cities over the minor ones. Massive redistricting and gerrymandering. So much corporate lobbying in the Texas Legislature that it makes he US Congress look clean.

And here he is trumping how nice Texas his and how heroic we are for affirming our sovereignty and leaving the option to seceed. Now Mr. Perry, how do you suggest we even fund the shit we are having trouble funding even with Federal assistance by ourselves?

He's just trying to cover up his mess here and act grandiose, and maybe become a Republican hero like Governor Reagan.

Though it seems for most of these people they only care for States' Rights to preserve their political dominance where ever, not so much for the sake of States' Rights. See moves for federal bans on gay marriage, a federal ban on flag burning, national surveillance, a federal ban, national immigration quotas, etc and so on advocated by the same group that complains about the lack of state rights.

Not saying that states rights is something that should be swept under the rug, but it's hard to listen to Gov. Perry talk about how great Texas (but really his government) is for doing this one thing, when they've done alot more shit.

I personally think the states should assert their own rights again, to an extent. I say... to Hell with Congress. Every new law that affects the entire nation should be ratified by each state's congress, not the morons in Washington.
