I am sick to death of Star Trek's over use of Time Travel and now we have the new Star Trek movie coming in May...AND IT FEATURES TIME TRAVEL AS A MAJOR PLOT POINT!!!
Are the writers so inept that they cant do a show unless it involves time travel?
Show us more on the Gorns, the Tholians, add in some of the races from the Star trek animated series like the Kzinti, the Vedala, and the Catian's (Who were also seen in ST:IV)
The Animated series is now considered canon by most due to ST:TNG, DS9, Voyager, and ENT making reference to a number of items and places from the animated series.
ST:TAS was also the first reference to James T. Kirk's middle name of Tiberius.

I like them both. They are really not so different in personality. William has more life experience to draw upon and is thus more worldly and mature.
I think if William had not been on Enterprise being inspired by Picard I think there is a strong chance that Will would have supported the Marquis.

RLY how come? i assumed (as it were in DS9 indicated) that Tom did it because of the "inseperability" from his generally more famous "twin"(actually clone of sorts)... i mean can you imagine how it must have felt? you get you sorry ass from the stupid chunk of rock where you been stuck for a looong time only to find that you are nothing but coppy, chick you love is not interested in you and you get to be on some shifty ship while the "original" is flying on a flagship of federation atop of that evryone keeps tossing into your face that you are coppy of famous Riker.
as far as Picard/William relation goes i belive that Picard did this maturing thing on most charakters... the actor just have such aura of authority that i would belive him he can make annyone good person .)

ooki so since nothing happened in some time ill restate my question is NX class predesestor to akiras? i still do not belive we thought it thru enough .) it sure as hell looks like it is and about the crew compliment/size this dose not change much it has same configuration (almost) and it generally seems just too alike to be an coinsidence (as i think i mentioned before there are numerous exaples of trademark explotation today that are refering to 40 or more years old cars (mini cooper have nothing to do with the original one aswell as the new beetle short of name OFC) )

I'm going to have to agree. Both of the Rikers stand up for the right thing, and would protect a weaker peoples, if being attacked by a literal military giant.
In the beginning, Will Riker was very defiant, very brash. Had it not been for Picard molding him, he would have easily been swayed into the Marquis movement.

hmm maybe, however i think its not only picard (tho he apprently had most impact of all people on the ship) it might have been the situations he faced... i mean Riker were practically hero when he came aboard the enterprise and he had been assigned to flagship and so this had prolly major impact on his behavior... i mean being on flagship and on as respected position as first officer is has to make you behave in certan way... Tom never been on falgship not to mention first officer (and having his ex gf aboard) he were stuck on a rock and when he were rescued he were left on same rank (just between us Riker William were promoted for the action the the planet) and send to sme silly old ship.... i know it would piss me off.
to sum it .) i belive that Picard has abillity to create gre8 first officer out of impulsive young person but.... the circumstances had huge impact on him aswell... and i belive that loosing tasha might ben point when Riker really came into himself and started to think alot more seriously about what and how he is doing.
BTW what do YOU think about akira and NX01 simmilarities

I.e. them all being experiments of Q junior into which the enterprise accidentally stumbled?
But yes there's way too much time travel around.
And to return to the actual topic at hand. I'll be honest and will have to say I prefer the dastardly, scheming cousins of the Vulcans - the romulans.
They are the same race, but the romulans decided to forgo becoming a race of emotional anchoivies.
And are overall so much more fun to be around.
IMHO want to make a Trek series successful bring back a new ship , a new captain, and have it operate against known enemies we have never seen very much of before.
Why not use existing races like Tholians, Breen, Gorn, Kzinti, or even the unknown insect species that tried to take over Enterprise in Next Generation and failed but managed to send out a transmission from earth.
Im over and done with Klingons. I like then but keep them for guest spots. Same with the Romulans. They should be reeling with the destruction of the sentate.
Give me some Starships, history and culture on Tholians, Breen, Gorn, and Kzinti.

If i am not mistaken teh ENT series were suposted to cover just taht area spices known to exist and/or be part of a fedweration but never had much time on screen (BTW Tzenkethi wars? When did that happen annyways?? - did not seen good part of TOS and not sure about TNG) somehow it slipped to "we are greatest and you all suck" kind of storry and in thirth series it got completly out of hand (somone lack ability to write interesting stories obviously and if it dose not make anny sence than just throw in Daniells and have his say that this is not suposted to be happening --how convinient). Annyways i assume that original intent of the show were shov Vulkans and Andorians and all other species how they are swayed to join earth in aliance against kilngons and alike.... and i also assume that company that held rights or something had tried to make it more action (hecne thirs season) with no regard for charakter developement (WTF is with michel and T'pol i mean Trip (SGA Michel XD) and T'pol somethign wrong with that arch... looks like it were added in wierd dast fashon besides that i am not certan what T'pol felt towards Archer) IMO the entire ENT series were too rushed (casting ,writing and production ... Archer is either Therribly acted or written this leaves best actung on screen to episodical/reocuring chars such as Shren, S'vol some alliens... Klingons and Vulkans in particullar - prolly something to do with acting education)

I have a few friends who definitely had the hots for B'lanna for instance.
But the best Vulcan in the entire show was Tuvok.
His faceless bland expression of Yes. Was just so funny at times.
spock can not talk for him tho .) annyways i heard that there is some sort of romantical literature about spock and kirk (whitout ladies around) its been mentioned in the trekkies movie .)) so who knows... maybe Spock were written as a gay idol.If i think about it for second i never seen anny women around him (in more than friend manner) exept for savvik who has been his sort of apprentice if i am correct.

In Search For Spock, the newly regenerated Spock got some Saavik nookie.

Kruge and several members of his crew beam to the surface of the Genesis planet to pursue the surviving crew of the Grissom. Saavik finally finds out why the Genesis planet is changing so rapidly: David had used protomatter in the Genesis device, a substance known to be unstable. The Genesis planet is not likely to remain stable for very long, and it is causing the rapid evolution of the lifeforms on the planet as well as making Spock age rapidly. As night falls on the planet, David guards the location where he, Saavik and Spock are hiding. Spock, now aged to adolescence, begins to experience pon farr. Saavik determines that the only way Spock will make it through this portion of his accelerated growth would be for her to mate with him.
I'm suspicious of Spock's hetero credentials in the original series but, after he died and got reborn on Genesis, he must have gotten his mind right and took the prime Vulcan vagina. The protomatter must have taken the gay away.
