Default Most Moving Moments

Star Trek has had a number of episodes where the focus wasn't just on cool space exploration, or space fighting. But times when they explored the depths of the human soul. Sometimes they did this really well, other times not so much.

So what moments in all of Star Trek stand out as ones that really moved you emotionally? Was it when Picard got Spock's Dad's memories? Or when Spock died? What are the most stirring moments in Trek?

Here's one of mine. A great moment when Sisko has a vision of being a pulp fiction writer in the 50's and experiences racial discrimination.

The most moving moment that comes to mind is one of my favorite scenes- one I have shared many times here before. O'Brian beams over to the Rutledge to console his old Captain.

The first one that came to mind was actually an entire episode. DS9's The Visitor, which is kind of ironic considering that I probably haven't seen more than a dozen episodes total.

Probably one of the first moments I remember seeing was the exchange between Tuvok and Neelix when he left Voyager.

Awww, man. Tuvok and Neelix had a.... special.. relationship. What was The Visitor about? I don't recall it off the top of my head.

I don't want to go into any great detail and potentially spoil it, so here's the brief summary:

"After a freak accident in the engine room of the Defiant apparently claims the life of Benjamin Sisko, Jake lives out his life in an endless quest to locate his father."

Here's actually probably the most touching scene of "The Visitor". But don't watch it if you don't want to be spoiled.

A couple come to mind from Voyager.

Firstly in the episode Coda;
Spoiler:
While under the influence of the parasite, Janeway experiences her own funeral.

Then in Year of Hell;
Spoiler:
Firstly when she orders the crew to abandon ship at the end of the first episode. Secondly at the end of the second episode, where she says goodbye to the other senior officers and goes down with the ship.

Shattered;
Spoiler:
A couple of moments in this episode. Especially when Tuvok dies, while pilot episode Janeway is a bit confused, it's still an interesting moment I think.

Thanks, guys. I've seen every episode of Deep Space Nine and Voyager, and almost every episode of The Next Generation. Only saw a handful of TOS episodes... I just forgot what the episode was about, and was too lazy to go to Memory Alpha.

On topic, yes, The Visitor was a very touching episode. Didn't love it as much as some of the others, but it was well written, and as always, well acted.

Edit...

At the end... McCoy talks to Data about the ship. Kinda touching to me.

"Well this is a new ship, but she's got the right name. Now you remember that, you hear?"
"I will, sir."
"You treat her like a lady, and she'll always bring you home..."

Probably one of my favorite TNG episodes... Relics was very awesome, and touching. The vid above shows some of the highlights, and conveys the general premise of the episode.

A very touching scene, with Picard giving the Best Man's address at Riker and Troi's wedding. Then, we get a special treat from Data, with Blue Skies.
