So just opened the map editor a while ago.

Seems a bit iffy for the time being, a couple of things don't work. The most major difference I noticed to old dow map making is textures.

They come in so called layers and each layer has a ground and cliff texture which hits once the slope passes a certain ammount.

Problem is, that for the time being it only seems to take pre-prepared layers and you cannot create completely new layer pairs. Makes a big purple ground. But that seems to be a bug so we can hope that custom textures will work.

main difference for you wasturr that I see - heyghtmaps can be vertical. There won't be any slanted walls.

Actually the new game engine have solid objects for ramps and stairs. Saves me the trouble really.

Have some plans to continue my Volistad maps now. Too bad there's no snow templates yet.

Ooh, ossum.
Much like the last DoW's mod tools, I don't think I can entirely be bothered learning this m'self. But, well, Volistad was a pretty epic map (Props to Mr Turr), and a DoWII equivalent could be very, very sexy.

Question: In the mapeditor, I assume you specify each player's start position on the map, but can you specify where (and how many) defense turrets they get from the get-go?

I think it's only 2 turrets limit per base Lad. Unless of course you pick an engineer type of hero.

Pretty sure it can be done but the problem I see here is how it can be played.(balance wise)

Since the SM don't have a siege weapon. Well plasma squad is the closest thing they got but they're really vulnerable.

Sm have the best siege weapon....plasma devs

That said, all turrets die to vehicles instantly. But I think there's no limit to how many you can add.

Best? A jump squad can make short work of them unlike a prism grav tank or the looted pred.
